...not invites as a noun, gah!

I've just seen yet another example of this usage, and rather than be a wanker on that thread, I thought I should vent here.

Is it just me that finds this irritating?

Hah.

I was going to just type "invitations' on that thread.

[restrained]

Sadly, it's probably in the dictionary as a verb now.

Dice as singular bothers me tremendously. You?

GretaGip · 26/08/2011 17:26

With the proper punctuation marks unlike some silly billy on that thread.

UGSN.

LeBJOF · 26/08/2011 17:26

Oh, yes- completely offensive Grin

Was that the right abbreviation?

You know, the one what you coined?

Confused
LeBJOF · 26/08/2011 17:30

UTGSN, I think it was. Failed to ignite the boards due to being, er, a bit offensive. I still like it though.

Agree, and usually it (invites) is said in a particularly irritating way, which makes me behave like a snot; stressing invitATION every time I hear it.

GretaGip · 26/08/2011 17:45

I think it's very apt. And a suitable comment on many AIBUs.

Yes, I come over all Celia Johnson when I hear it in real life. Well, Celia Johnson with a hint of Scouse...

I miss proper invitations - just as I miss quotations

LeBJOF · 26/08/2011 18:11

Ah, quotations- excellent example Grin

Ok - please would you say what UTGSN and SIOB stand for? Thank you.
