Hello,

I'm icing Easter eggs for family to announce that I'm pregnant and need to know the answer to the above question to make the egg for my sister.

Thanks.

This isn't a terribly helpful answer, because I'd say it varies with every family.

Or you could just pipe "Aunt" [terribly idle emoticon]

And congratulations - and what a lovely way to announce!

The correct is "Auntie" although "Aunty" is common. However, as Med stated, it does vary from family to family.

Thank you.

I'll go with Auntie.

All Auntie in this family. No idea why.

I'm an Aunt, but my DSis is Auntie; my Ma is now Grannie, as was her mother before her!

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I hope they like the eggs - it's a great idea Grin

I prefer to be Auntie.

TobyLerone · 19/04/2011 16:00

Auntie.

MaundyBra · 19/04/2011 16:07

Grannie feels very wrong - my mum is a granny. Smile Ah but then I see your mum is a Ma, so maybe it's a regional thing.

cyb · 19/04/2011 16:08

ie sounds younger for some reason

PigeonPie · 19/04/2011 20:36

Actually Mundy, my Ma is really Mummie, but I don't really call her that now (Grannie is easier!).
