Thank you. I definately don't want DS to go to an independant grammer school and be seperate from his mates. The school secratary doesn't even know what's in the stationary cupboard.

ThaliaKeith · 02/02/2011 14:06

Oh yes, stationary and stationery another great one.

As is practice/practise.

JoanofArgos · 02/02/2011 14:10

and Athiest, as though it were a superlative. I'm the athiest athy there is.

Why Thalia? Did your parents want a boy? Wink

ThaliaKeith · 02/02/2011 14:51

Joan do you know who my aunt is?

JoanofArgos · 02/02/2011 14:54

You Auntie, you mean?
Those had better not be her pears.

ThaliaKeith · 02/02/2011 15:37

Grin Was hoping someone would recognise my name :)

seeker · 02/02/2011 15:40

Do you like pears for breakfast?

And can I add devestated and tonsillitus to your list?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 02/02/2011 15:47

Lol - I know about having pears for breakfast!

I was about to mention practice / practise, but am too slow.

I'm not a very good speller - but I know I'm not, so I always spell those tricky words properly. It's other, seemingly simple words that catch me out!

seeker · 03/02/2011 11:17

Actually, going back to "devestated". Perhaps it's a completely different word, meaning 'a bit upset" and not a mispelling of "devastated" after all....

JoanofArgos · 03/02/2011 11:18

Or it means you've been forcibly stripped of your thermals.....?

seeker · 03/02/2011 11:21

Then 'devastated" means you've been on a successful diet.....

wordgirl · 03/02/2011 21:37

Now you're just being rediculous.

JoanofArgos · 04/02/2011 11:05

There would be BLOOD FOR BREAKFAST.

They're, their. Don't get too upset and loose your temper.

coatgate · 04/02/2011 13:47

Was browsing my DD's school website yesterday and came across Independant. Cannot decide whether to email them or not? WWYD?

seimum · 04/02/2011 13:51

Supercede (instead of supersede)

mrsruffallo · 04/02/2011 13:52

lose your temper
There is a goose running loose

campion · 04/02/2011 18:35

Email them immediately, coatgate.

I spotted the same on Leeds LEA Education website ( spouting about the importance of education, no less) and emailed them Blush

They replied, thanked me and corrected it.

Result!
