thank you cards???

It struck me this morning that I have more than 20 lovely birthday cards displayed on the fireplace, from my dd's birthday.

I need her to write out 20+ simple thank you cards.

So, should I re-use the birthday cards?

i.e. have my dd write on the blank part of the birthday card?

I won't mind if you all think 'NO' !!

Do you mean she would write on other side of the picture and you would cut off the other half of the card, so it would be like a postcard thingy?

Might work if you do that, very thrify .

Cyclops · 17/05/2010 07:59

no, I was just going to have dd write on the inside page (or on the back page if the inside page has been written or drawn on) !

I just wondered if it would seem a bit naff but it seems wasteful to buy 20+ new cards!

are they going back to the people that sent them?

Cyclops · 17/05/2010 08:00

but yes, cutting off the back of the card could work too...hmm, I like that idea!

I think doing it Meglet's way would be good. Although would probably make sure you didn't give the same card back to the person who gave it to you.

Cyclops · 17/05/2010 08:01

yes, I would deliberately send them back to the original sender..though I guess I could mix them up too...!

Stickers & glitter would jazz them up a bit. I think I will be doing it myself after the dc's birthdays.

Pinking shears might be useful too.

NoahAndTheWhale · 17/05/2010 08:07

Not sure I would notice if I got the same card back again though

Cyclops · 17/05/2010 08:13

thanks for all suggestions so far and glad the idea didn't bomb!

I think I'd be a bit hurt if I got my card back.

Not sure why

You cannot send the same card back to the recipient with a thank you scrawled in it, alongside the birthday message!

Cards are meant for the people they are written for.

You can cut up and rsus old cards as long as they don't go to the person who sent them.

Thank you notes are traditionally not meant to be or card though, but on notepaper or letter-paper.

I owuld find it very odd if a card my DS had spent ages writing pout got given back to him with a thank you in it.

Seriously.

Cyclops · 17/05/2010 09:35

OK, I will ensure that no cards go back to their original sender!

In fact, I prefer the idea of mixing up the cards anyway - I was just thinking off the top of my head earlier!
