Does anyone know where I can buy these cheaply? Want them as an alternative to plates and hopefully will be a lot tidier! Looking for something similar to the ones that McDonalds do for their childrens meals. Thanks very much for your help.

And here (3 pages altogether!)

Thanks for that...Didnt realise these would work out so expensive. I have 40 kids going and it costs about £14 just for the cheapest boxes plus delivery on top!

Perhaps I should have asked can anyone think of an alternative to party plates!! Any ideas?

what about making your own - you can do it - I vaguely remember making some at a craft evening with kids from wallpaper or flexible somewhat thin cardboard - perhaps your children can help decorate them or the kids can and then you can put their food in and it can be theirs to take home. I am sure if you did a search you could find a pattern on the web.

Toni?

No help, sorry. Just wanted to say 'brave woman'-
entertaining 40 and feeding them all!

PS

Second thoughts. Would a plateless/boxless party work? Have all the eats etc on dishes on a table (oops, BIG table), plenty of kitchenroll or cheap paper napkins (as plates) and just let them lift and eat as they choose - plenty of bin liners nearby though for scraps etc.?

Good luck with whatever you decide.

3GirlsMum - cheapest I've found are BakerRoss - £6.72 for 24 Delivery is £2.95.

It does work out pricey, but is it SO MUCH EASIER. You can sort out all the food beforehand, and the kids love them.

(DS2 had his party in May - some kids took the boxes home with them, but those that were left and still looked OK will be re-used for DS1's party next week.)

You could put food in paper bags - I've seen this done before, and it works, but obviously not as appealing for the children.

Dont know where you are, but I bought some this week in SE London, Walworth Rd I think its called the Party shop or somrthing: 35p each. But I was only buying 10! Expensive for what they are but i reckon it will make eating outside a bit easier, as we dont have a big enough table.
