Hi

my boy will be 5 in June and I would love to give him a party with his mates.

We have been to different ones since Sept, when he started reception. Some were held in Church Halls and parents were catering for food and serving as well with drinks. Some others were in places with a soft playarea (eg Caves in Portsmouth or Monkey Buz')and the parents had to provide only a cake. The rest was taken care by the supplier

We have no family around and with another younger child is difficult for us to do all the food preparation etc and serve at tables etc.. Not many friends around either to ask for help. So the best solution would be trying to find a place where they do it all and we give the cake.
I live in Waterlooville, near Portsmouth. Does anyone have any recommendations?
His b'day is in the summer so it would really be nice if we could organise something outdoor and if weather is not fantastic have a backup plan

Many thanks for your advice!

Don't know your area but farm parties are nice for children of that age.

Hi

Yes, I like farm parties but dont know any of them in the area (only Honeybrook which is in Dorset, too far). Unfortunately havent been here long enough.

reg how many .. they might be a few actually, I will prob need to invite his own school class or some of them and a couple more prob so I reckon about 20-25

I saw parties at Staunton but just a bit worried if it rains... will have to check alternative plan

Thanks

does anyone know at all venues even indoor where you don't have to worry about food (they provide it) and I will supply the cake only? Thanks

Do you have a Brewers Fayre near you, if it has a fun factory/play zone soft play area then its ideal, they do the food, and a dessert. The kids get to run around in the play zone and their hosts organise some party games they even provide the cake. Its very good value at £5.99 per child, if you want the place exclusively there is a £40 supplement. link here

The Aquarium in Southsea does parties.I'm not sure of costs and what they provide, but it would be fine whatever the weather. There is a great outdoor splash area too.
