My mum is always fussy and hard to buy for. And never seems very impressed by any present she gets.

Just wondering what other people are buying their mums for mothers day? And how much you are spending?

I have got alot to pay for at the moment so thinking of spending around £20.

I dont think its a problem with the present, more like a problem with your mu

Arent you supposed to be grateful whatever you get?

I have planted a herb garden for my mum - terracotta planter, and half a dozen different herbs - cost about £15 all in. Will also take her for lunch.

My mother will be getting a tacky photo mug with pics of her grandchildren on from my dc's and probably a bunch of flowers from me. Mother's Day is supposed to be a token gift isn't it ? (unless DH is reading, in which case I'd like Jo Malone stuff please )

Yes I think it should be a token gift as well. The only present I can think of which my mum has been happy with was a pair of boots I bought her for her birthday which cost me £100.

Even when I was younger I hated mothers day as my friends could all buy their mums a teddy or something and their mums would love them...

Nothing - she doesn't believe in it

Tbh, if that is your mother's attitude, then I really wouldn't worry too much about it. She's clearly not going to be satisfied with anything you buy her, so what's the point in wasting too much energy thinking about it ?? Get her flowers/chocs/nice photo of the dc's. Its her problem, not yours.

I have got chocolates and champagne for my mum, boring maybe but guaranteed a good reception!

There's a whole section of mother's day gifts at www.babyblooms.co.uk. I bought a domestic bliss bouquet, a bit cheeky but great fun..
