Hi, we have been to have a look at Willows farm in St Albans for our dd's 4th birthday. Just wondering if anyone can recommend them as it all sounds good but we are still unsure. We are looking at a venue that will do everything i.e catering, entertaining. etc. Thankyou.

Hi there,

Haven't been myself but my sister often takes my three nearly four year old neice there and they both love it. Next time i'm visiting i plan on joining them with my two boys.

I had a run in with the manager because he and a colleague walked straight off the farm and onto the baby soft play area without removing their shoes - despite the fact they make parents buy socks rather than go on barefoot even! He was v rude to me. Not that this answers your questions at all... soz

hi, havent been there for a birthday party, but have to say that it is a favourite day out for my family. loads to do, animals to see, indoor and outdoor play area, eating place, travtor rride. almost too much to do in just one afternoon. been every summer for last three years and will go again this year.

Willows is lovely, lots to do and see .... BUT I would be very wary of taking a big bunch of young children there for a party unless you had lots of adult help. The site is huge. If it's a nice day there's lots to do outside, but it can get busy and hard to keep an eye on little ones. Maybe better for a preschooler during term time when it's less busy (we have to go on Saturdays now mine are at school).

There is an indoor play centre, but this has several exits and entrances and on one visit (to a party) a little boy we know wandered out behind some adults (not with the party) and was eventually found wandering round the carpark.

So ... I'd say if you go for it, definitely one of those parties where you allow plenty of adult supervision.
