My DS turns 2 next Sunday and I haven?t orgnised anything yet beyond who is coming (10 toddlers and their parents) and I have ordered plates etc for an In the Night Garden theme. We are in Spain and have a large terrace so hope that they can play outside a bit but that may not happen due to rain. Can anyone suggest a format for the party? games etc for a two year olds ? any tips very welcome. Also, I have some hand made chipolata sausages (a treat here) and have organised the cake but seriously need to think about what to feed them too, any ideas? Thanks for your help!

I wouldn't try too much organisation for 2 yr olds, it won't work.
Just get a ball pit/paddling pool filled with balls for them to play in or blow up loads of balloons. Let them run around playing with toys.
If you want to try a game pass the parcel would need parental help and a prize or sweet in each layer to keep their interest.
The one thing guaranteed to amuse everyone is musical bumps though, dancing toddlers is always funny.

Just feed them crap, it's what people expect easy non messy finger food.

Oh, and make sure you have a nice bottle of wine ready for when everyone has gone....

Sorry, mean to add try and get a CD of songs they will know, or download them, are they Spanish or Expat children? Nursery rhymes go down well here as they can try and sing along/do actions.

We had a joint party for ours 1 & 2.

Only game was pass the parcel then played a cd of kids songs amd they ate the picnic outside on the grass.

Also dd2 got a bubble machine which we put on.

We did have a bouncy castle though.

One thing I didn't have was food/drink for the adults though which people seemed to expect..

I guess that could just be dips/'adult' crisps/cold meats/olives and a few bottles of wine & beers though.

Thanks! I have a DD of 7 months too so some of her little pals are coming too! thanks for the ideas. I am toying with a bouncy castle. Decided to have a Burns' supper for the parents as it is Burns' night the next day and DH is bringing haggis back from Scotland next week - nice and easy in my hostess trolley!

We do most of our parties at home and I always do food for the adults too.

This year DS1 was three just before Xmas and money was tight so we just did doritos with dips, curly fries and garlic bread.

Simple, cheap and yummy!

Sounds like a great party idea
