We are getting DD a bike, a dress to wear to her party, and a few books and bits and pieces.

Several family friends/Godparents etc have asked what they should get DD, and I am at a loss as to what to tell them...any thoughts?

DD loves books but just has SO many (and we are giving her Pipp Loongstocking and a kids cook book aldeady)...we are staying with my parents so we really can't aquire anything 'big', as we don't have the space...she is not really 'into' a particular thing.

It would just be good if I had some ideas to give people who ask though, as they are mostly doting and childless Aunties and Uncles who want to give her something she'll love but have no idea what to get.

So, what small/medium (I guess 10-15 pounds) gifts did your DD recieve when she was 5?

TIA

OOh, I have the lauren child illustrated pippi stashed away for my DD, also 5yo.
Her current favourites:
some good felt-tips and a stack of paper
pop-up playhouse
roller skates & knee/elbow pads
polly pocket
skipping rope
'baby seat' for her bike
bike helmet

yep, its the Lauren Child one we have for her too

Felt tips are a good idea - we go through a set every few weeks!

She has a helmet already, but I might measure her head in case she needs a bigger one soon.

good ideas thanks

Cloths - especially if it is done in vouchers so she can pick - it becomes so much more of an adventure.

Is she into music? could try a little radio alarm, some cheap ones about ds has had one from tesco which was only about £7 (it is currently lovingly laid out in bits on his desk - he was just working out how it worked )

Don't buy her more stuff to clutter up your house. Put money in a bank account for her (to save up for university fees)!
