Is there a limit to how many people I can have at my house?

Hello

I'm having the evening part of my wedding reception this July at home, as we have children and they'll need to go to bed.

I'm just in the middle of writing a quick courtesy note to the neighbours to let them know, and it suddenly occured to me that there might be some weird law or something that puts a limit on how many people I can have - or how much noise - or how many cars?

As I say, we have kids who will be sleeping, so I'm not anticipating a rave (I'm far too old!!), we have a pianist, so the music won't be loud or anything. I hope they'll all be in the garden though which is why I'm letting them know.

Is there anything I should have thought of do you think?

Thanks,

I don't think there are any laws on how many people you can have in your house and garden, or how many cars as long as they're all parked legally.

But there are laws about noise after a certain time in the evening, so you need to check up on what would count as a nuisance.

Think it's really unlikely any of your neighbours would complain about noise etc, if you invited them to join you for part of the celebrations.
