Holding it at home with about 14 kids. All 3/4 and a mix of girls/boys.

Dd is mad on wow wow wubbzy so the following is planned:

Wubbzy cake
Pin the tail on Wubbzy

Pass the parcel with various gifts inbetween layers.

Playing in the garden with bouncy castle/Slide/Playhouse etc.

I have party bags organised with gifts appropriate for girls & boys. Lots of princess/Hello Kitty table wear etc..

Suggestions for more game please..? Also Music wise..dd is made on "chart" songs (down to me ). Is this ok to play at a party..? ie Take thats album etc or should I only have nursery songs..?

Never had a "party" myself with lo's before so a little nervous.
Also coping stratergies for parents as most of them, this will be our 1st time of meeting...

TIA X

If you need a 5 minute rest then "sleeping tigers" is a good one. Everyone lays down on the floor - if you move you are out! Can vary with - lay on the floor until the music comes on - then jump up and dance like mad until music goes off - then lay down on the floor again.

14 kids! At home!? Are you mad? Wow wow Wubbzy?

I read somewhere that you should never invite more children than your childs age, so in your case, 4.

Are parents staying too? Trying to get that many kids to do games will be nigh on impossible, unless you've booked MR Tumble as the party entertainer.

Who or what is wow wow wubzy????

Musical bumps and a simple treasure hunt are both good for this age group.

Good luck!

I think the party will end up being more of a stay and play session with all those children.

Get lots of toys out, big roll of paper and crayons, hopefully it will be dry and you can kick them out entertain them in the garden

3/4 year olds are a bit young for party games IMHE. They tend to get v. upset when they loose and some of the younger ones just don't get the concept of being 'out'.

Music sounds fine.

I had a ball pit - paddling pool filled with balls for dd1's 4th birthday as well as a bouncy castle.

They also all enjoyed a drawing table, although a craft activity that they could all take home would also go down well.

Mostly at that age they just like playing with toys.

Have you got food sorted ? We did a pizza party for dsd's 4th b'day. Bought lots of pizza bases and tomato sauce and then put lots of fillings in little bowls and the guests "made" their own pizzas. It filled half an hour or so, it was quite cheap and it meant they actually ate most of their lunch . I suppose if you were really clever, you could get a Wubbzy cutter and get the pizza bases in the shape of Wubbzy if you want to keep the theme.

we've just had a party for ds1 who has just turned 3 and I didn't do any party games (I did have a couple up my sleeve in case it rained). They just played in the garden and i got them all to plant sunflower seeds in pots to take away and decorate a strip of paper to stick round the pot to make it look nice.
They all seemed to have fun and noone asked for games.

I did a party for 15 kids for my ds's 4 b/aday just a few weeks ago..

most of them at nursery so were fine with games

we did pass the parcel, musical chairs, musical bumps, musical islands and corners

and we did lots of "circle activities" like head shoulders knees and toes, the hokey cokey, the grand old duke of york, and of course the conga

The kids all said they had a ball and the parents that did say it was fab..

we hired a hall so they had loads of room... and trust me you will needs about 5/6 adults cos at this age.. even make a cirlce needs a lot of help..

good luck

Ohhhh thanks everyone .

Mad............well if the cap fits . Most people have given me "the look" when I have said we are holding the party .!

Right, so games not a big thing..Thats ok, so what I have already can be fine.
We are planning that really no kids loose iykwim..all will get a gift in pass the parcel and the other games others will get little things as a bonus iykwim.

I like the idea of paper and crayons to draw pics etc oh and also debi's idea of planting seeds. A nice reminder of her party .

What im also worried about......the boys......dd can be mad iykwim BUT do I need to be prepared for a houseful of boys..? (ds is only 2 so not at "that" stage yet ...

Yes, parents are staying (hopefully..) and we have stated the party is for 2 hours.

All of the kids coming do have some kind of time in nursery so I guess should be ok with following orders etc..
Its a mix, some from music group, pre school and friends lo's.

Food wise, I am planning on making cakes/rice crispies squares, sandwiches, breadsticks, crisps, cheese on sticks, pop corn,jelly,sweets,etc...Im not to bothered on the food side as kids don't always seem so hot on eating at parties...
