It's been a while since we have used an entertainer but DD has seen this lady at her friend's party and is dead set on having the same lady for her party. She's charging £105 for an hour. Is this the going rate does anyone know?

TIA

Sounds about average. I am in the wrong buisness that's for sure!

heck! You're right Serin. She was good though I thought so perhaps it's worth it.

The one I ercently had for dd's was £110 for an hour - all were about the same.

I was a little last year when trying to sort out DD1(4) party,Everyone seemed to be £100-£200.

In the end I booked Jo Jingles for £80,(a reduced amount as I skipped the invitations and Party Bags and did my own)

All the DC's loved it though, even if they were shy and had never done the "Jo Jingles" bit before.

This year all her classmates have gone to our local Playarea. But we are having a self-organised "Princess party".

I thought they could Ice a Biscuit lolly(they make a Disney princess kit) and Ice some cakes, and make a Tiara.

With Party games and a Princess Cake,I hope DD1 will be happy.

Think the Jo Jingles was good value as it was for 18 children!

thanks wheelybug. Best I raid DD's piggy bank then

sorry Sawyer, crossed posts. Jo Jingles does seem good value but DD has requested a 'fairy' party hence the Fairy Sparkles entertainer.

TBH, though by the end of dd's party I did decide that the entertainer had well earnt his money - if you can keep 30 4 year olds quiet and happy for an hour that takes some doing !

mckenzie · 16/02/2009 20:02

30 4 year olds!! I thought I was being generous letting DD invite 15 . I take it you didn't have the party at home?

They're so expensive I think but £100-£200 for a session sounds the going rate. Ours is £185 for 2½ hours including party bags and we have to give her lunch.

Wheelybug · 16/02/2009 20:23

Actually I exagerate - there were 24 4 year olds and 6 1-2 year old siblings. We didn't have it at home which was part of the issue - it meant we didn't have to hold back so ended up inviting more children than we thought. Worked fine though thanks to the entertainer !

I recently booked Silly Scott for my sons birthday, and I?ve got to admit he was worth every penny !! He was £185 for a 2 hour party, for which he took control from start to finish and did all the games, music, dancing and magic show. He also provided all the sweets, prizes and made sure every child received a balloon model to take home. The magic show he preformed was amazing and had the parents as hooked as the children, he even levitated the birthday boy. He gets my thumbs up

I booked Naima's magical parties for my daughter's 6th birthday party and it was full on for 2 hours. The cost was about £160.00 but it meant that I could just stand back and let the kids have a good time, she was worth her weight in gold. Don't know if you are still looking for someone she is based in London and her number is 0208 839 9940. DD is still talking about it.
