Took DD on a holiday for her fourth birthday ,it was a bit stressful beacuase of the snow so we promised a tea party when we got back.It seems it will only be her and one other child her age.Maybe one extra .Then us and her grandparents ,would you do party bags and would you do the usual party tea?

IMO don't think party bags would be expected for a small birthday tea

No definately not party bags, just maybe a bit of cake to take home?

DD's 5th party - 34 invites and NO party bags; I'm trying to break this cycle of 'having' to follow what everyone else does. Its too much hassle/waste of money and not eco friendly! Don't do it x

At DD's 3rd 20 kids and just did ballons and cake. I think it should be totally your choice if you want to or not. I agree with saythatagain you don't have to follow everyone else.

They are normally just full of rubbish anyway, my dd forgets she has one by the next day.

My kids adore party bags and treasure the contents. Though I am with you on the eco friendly thing you do risk appearring a bit mean esp. if there is only one little guest.

What about giving her a packet of seeds and some sweets (no waste there).

One extra child? No, I'd just make their favourite tea.
