ahh ds is 5 nxt wk, having a proper party as weve only ever had a family birthday tea previpus yrs as we knew it would start getting expensive as he started school.
have hired a entertainer who is fab, he does a disco type thing with mini competions and prizes and a pass the parcel. he cost 70 for 2 hours which is reasonable as he is good but oviously Im going to do a little light food and some party bags Or some helium balloons. Im really worried about it though, weve invited his whole class (30) plus a few other friends but im sooo worried that hardly anyone will come. hes quite a character at school and Im worried that other children will say I dont want to go to X's party as he pushes me/is horrible to me etc etc

I might be being paranoid but it doesnt help as i dont really know any of the other parents so I have no way of gauging it. i sent out Save the date notes the other week when i realised id booked it in half term(duh!) and am going to send the invite in the nxt few days, with hope that people will let me know by monday-do people usually let you know?

Sometimes people let you know and sometimes they are just too damn rude, you could always put on it that you need to know so that the entertainer knows whether to bring an assistant or not. That way people will let you know.

I always worry that no one will turn up and people always doo.

Round here people are really bad at letting you know. Put your mobile number on the invite and ask people if they wouldn't mind you having theirs when you hand out the invites. That way you can do a reminder text on the day of the party.

I'm sure some will come, some wont and some will forget. There will be food left (we all over cater).

You'll probably get a few acceptances when you hand out the invites and then it will put your mind at ease.

I love holiday parties (so long as I remember them) breaks up the hols.

DS will no doubt enjoy it regardless of how many come - sounds like a good party
