Ok first an apology, I always ask you this every year...so I am sorry.

But....I am having a disco for my 2 youngest DS's who will be 4 and 6 next Wednesday (Christmas...who's thinking about Christmas yet!!!!) and I need some simple party games or something that will keep them entertained. We are doing the disco so no entertainer as such.

They don't need to be competitive (although I'm not bothered if they are) just something fun that this age group will enjoy and understand. I'm not doing pass the parcel because tbh at this time of the year I get a bit sick of wrapping things up and the thought of doing one for 25 children doesn't excite me at all!

DS2 said something about playing sharks, where the fishes have tags and the 2 sharks have to try and get the tags from them. If they do they become seaweed. Four yr olds would get that wouldn't they?

Anyway, all suggestions greatfully recieved.

Musical chairs/ bumps/ statues all go down well at that age.

Yes, we will do statues and bumps but not chairs (can't be bothered )

Pin the tail on the donkey; Dead Lions towards the end to calm them all down.

treasure hunts always go well here
and also timed challenges for prizes

I thoought about having 3 teams and doing pass the balloon from the front to the back. Then the last person at the back runs to the front. When they have all had a go they sit down uick and the team who has sat down first is the winner. May need parental help for he little nes, but shouldn't be too hard.

I love treasure hunts, but the hall may be too small this year. Also not sure if pin the tail would be ok for this amount of children....might be though, but would involve me making/finding something to do it and I have to work tomorrow!

musical islands -

sheets of newspaper - childrn in groups of 3 or 4. dance til music stops then stand on paper. each team folds paper in half and repeat - have ot be able to all stand on smaller page next time..and so on. easy and quite fun.
