Am planning birthday party for DD1 & DD2.

About 25 kids coming.
17 boys aged 6-7
8 girls aged 6-7
5 boys aged 3-4
3 girls aged 3-4

Where can i get nice but not overly expensive bags from and what shall I put in them that will be nice to get but won't cost too much?

I used the inflatable guitar idea too. All the kids loved it, and they lasted for ages. Good value for money, as far as party bag tat goes.

I just got some pre-filled bags from Tesco for DD1s party next week. They are absolute rubbish, at £2 and are going back. I mean there's tat ... and there's tat.

I would wrap something up and do a lucky dip at the door on the way home

I'm thinking of giving chocolate advent calenders. Ben10 and Barbie. Currently in Poundland. For a pound.

£1 advent calender lovely idea. But girls party week before Xmas!

Am torn between the lovely books, (think Dr Seuss is fab), the inflatable guitars (inspired idea), the bulbs (how lovely is that) and the glowsticks (who doesn't love a glowstick)

Might do the guitars AND the glowsticks and it doesn't exactly flow with the theme but want to do the bulbs too.

OR, I could do al of them and do the lucky dip thing!!!!

He heeeeeee, am having fun again now.

you could wrap the guitar... with glowstick... with choc tree decoration and some choc coins. put label on saying thankyou for coming to my party etc.. and do a lucky dip.....

I am watching this with interest as have DDs 5th birthday party just before Christmas.

I also don't want tat, but after paying for venue, entertainer, food etc can't afford to spend too much per child on party bags.

I hadn't thought about my son's birthday party bags yet, (party next saturday) and while i was reading this thread I realised I might be too late for the book people. (I've done that for 2 birthday parties, it's great!) But I kept reading this thread and have now ordered 11 inflatable guitars! That will be fab!
Thanks for a great tip!

Just go with an idea and store the rest up for another year.

TeeBee · 12/11/2008 13:56

This is what I'm doing this year - 30 party bags will cost me around £10-11.

6 x 5-pack of christmas beakers from poundland.

Box of lollies from poundland - 99p for 30 lollies

Mini Cristmas crackers (hoping to spend £3-4 on these).

Note saying thank you for coming to my party.

All things will be put inside the cup and I might even put them in a little bag from Lakeland - which I already have tied up with some ribbon (which I already have).

I have spent far too much money on party bags in previous years.
