Which of the following time slots would you be most likely to attend a 3 year olds party?

We are hoping to hold ds 3rd birthday party in our village hall. I have just rung to check availability and it would appear that they are really strict on timings etc - they have given me the following options (this would be on a Saturday)-

a) 10.00am-12.30am
b) 12.45pm-3.15pm
c) 3.30pm - 6pm

I wanted to go for 3pm-4.30pm for the actual party which falls slap bang in the middle of their time slots. Children will all be 2-3 years old so I reckon b) would be naptime and c) would be late afternoon grumpy time - Would you take your dc to a party on a Saturday morning though?

Not C. It's too long to wait for a party and they get over-excited.

B is the best option

If you do B you could do food first (then clean up the vom)

I'd choose a or c but c my dd would be post-nap grumpy. I had her birthday party in the morning and it went well - they had party food as an early lunch.

I think I am heading towards the morning with food last but have never had an invite for a morning party before - would that stop you attending?

Lots of DS's friends had third birthday parties on Saturday mornings, by the way -- it was a very popular timeslot.

I think A is the best for littlies. They should be full of beans and not tired and grumpy. You can feed them at the end.

we just did 3 till 5:30 for our 4yoDDs - it was great as they had already had lunch and we only had crackers, olives, hummus fruit and other nibbles and CAKE and it was all over by dinnertime!

A. Gets it over with!

A is best by a long way

I hate late afternoon parties - it's horrible for the child to have to wait that long, and they get home for bedtime completely hyped up and often full of food you just don't FEED them at bedtime! Also by 3 or 4 pm many young children are flagging and you're far more likely to get kids falling over/lumping eachother/hysterically crying

A is best, especially as you can just get up and go, no hanging around waiting for the party to start. Also you can still go and do other things afterwards.

I hate parties in the middle of the day.

We had a 3rd birthday party for my dd last Saturday morning at the local softplay. 2 hours from 10.30 to 12.30. They were fed at about 11.30, went back out to play, came back for ice-cream (very little of which got eaten), followed by blowing out cake candles. Party bags and cake handed out as they were leaving. It went well and I had several comments from people saying that it was a good time to have it. DD was wired to the moon for a while afterwards but had settled down by dinner time.

Definitely go for A for that age group.
