Planning a Disco for my 13-year-old, help!

DD turns 13 this summer and says she wants a disco. There are some decent halls nearby we could have it in.

I know a DJ who might do it.

But, what else do I need to think of?

This is my first party for a teenager, so any tips from the wise are much appreciated - except for "are you mad?! Don't do it!" - we probably are. But we're doing it anyway Grin

@Ragatha i was a poster upthread! How did the party go?

It went brilliantly, thanks for asking!

We got an experienced DJ and he made all the difference tbh. They had a ball!

We had a venue with 2 rooms and a kitchen. One room was the disco and the other was a chill area with drinks, snacks and a home-made photo booth in the other.

We gave them all pizza about half way through.

Are you thinking of doing similar?

Which room was most popular?

22 came, plus a couple of younger cousins etc. We did 6:30-9pm, with a short break for pizza and another short break at the end to sing Happy Birthday.

The DJ brought lights, which made the atmosphere.

The disco room was the most popular room by far but the photo booth was definitely a hit and it was good to have somewhere else to go to.

It was great fun! We needed more help with running it than I realised though and luckily a few friends and family stood in last minute.
