craft / making ideas for a 6-year-old girl's party

Does anybody have any novel ideas for a craft table for dd's 6th birthday party?

I've been scouting around and not come up with anything I particularly like.

Most of the attendees will be girls of a similar age. There will be around 3-5 boys, and up to 15 girls. I don't have a hugely tight budget as we'd planned on getting an entertainer but have gone off the idea a bit.

TIA

DD went to a party where they made musical instruments- it was noisy! They made shakers, had wooden tambourines to decorate with stickers and ribbons, clacky things (getting technical now) and a few others. It was great for girls and boys. Have earplugs for the adults though.

Any idea where they got the materials from? I'm finding it very hard to find the right place to buy raw, undecorated things.

We bought various bits from yellow moon for DD1's party and the girls really enjoyed making them. We chose scratch art door hangers, trinket boxes and paper fans to decorate but this was a girls only party. The site does have loads of other craft projects to choose from suitable for boys and girls. We also decorated cakes and biscuits which went down a storm.

check out baker ross. Had craft party for DD when she was 7 or 8, bought things like Masks/bookmarks/keyrings/blank jigsaws from BR and bought cheap pens/pencils etc from poundshops and the like

(cross posts - yellow moon = baker ross, but a % of yellow moon goes to school/scouts/brownies/whatever. BR is cheaper cos not got fundraising markup)

Yellow moon

and I am desp thinking of the other on line cat that you can get all sorts of things from!

Will rack my brain.

For my DDs 9th Birthday, we did a scrapbooking party, friends arrived, they made their own pizzas, then while DH was cooking pizzas, I took lots of photos, while they were eating, I printed out photos. They then decorated a small photo album that I had made for them. All the Mums thought this was a great idea, and all the children had a great time.

My other DD when she turned 8, we decorated eggs (her birthday was actually Easter Sunday) Maybe you could blow the eggs and make them more special, we didn't do this because we were egg rolling - appart from the fact the weather was so horrendous we only egg rolled in the hall at home rather than a lovely big hill as planned.

You can get plain black or white plimsolls in M&S for abotu £2 and then decorate them with silver pens. I did this for dd and a few friends a while ago. Worked out cheaper than getting craft kits and they loved having something to take home.

I was about to say baker ross.
