Is this enough food for party?

Having a small party in a local hall with a bouncy castle this weekend for my dc 4th birthday. There will be 12 children.

sandwiches- egg mayo, cheese, jam
pizza slices
fruit kebabs
watermelon shapes
ritz crackers in a bowl
carrot and cucumber sticks with humous
ice lollies
homemade cookies

Party is 11:30am-1pm; probably lay food out for 12:15?

never done this before so any tips are welcome! Thank you. X

Sounds good to me but unless the egg mayo is birthday child's favourite, I wouldn't bother. They will be so hot and hyped up that I don't think they'd eat much and 2 fillings alongside pizza is plenty.

Have fun!

Sounds about right quantity wise and 12.15 is fine.

never seen egg sandwiches at a party or similar - don’t think that will be popular. Do ham instead. It’s largely cheese or ham - kids don’t need a lot of choice unless any dietary requirements. A few jam but not loads and make sure it’s seedless jam!

Not sure about ritz crackers either - again never seen these at parties. Crisps would be safer.

Kids don’t tend to be adventurous at parties so familiar food is most guaranteed to be eaten. That’s my experience having recently emerged from a decade of regular kids parties (dc 11 and 13)!

I have one child coming who cannot have dairy or soya, mum said she is okay with egg mayo so perhaps I will just make her an egg mayo sandwich?

We are vegetarian hence the no meat haha

Ritz crackers I thought were a safe bet as they are just plain! What crisps should I go for? X

They love crisps! Wotsits, Pom Bears etc in big bowls. I agree with offering jam sandwiches - these were far more popular than I’d bargained on at DDs 5th birthday party. I’d only made a few because I knew one of her friends wouldn’t eat cheese or ham but loved jam. I think I’d have got away with just doing jam 😂.

I also wouldn’t bother with the faff of homemade cookies. Party Rings & Jammie Dodgers will go down well.

Thank you!

I was making home made cookies because of the dietary requirements and also I love baking haha but maybe I’ll just buy some packs too zz

Are you getting them special bread? Hovis for example has soya in it! Allergens are a nightmare!
