Lush Parties for Adults

Anyone been to a lush party as a adult? Can only find reviews online for children/teens.

Would like to go ice skating or a roller disco for my birthday but I'm pregnant so thinking of other ideas!

I absolutely would not attend if someone invited me to one-sorry!

Same I can't stand the smell and it gives me a headache!

I wouldn’t want to go either. You can learn to make sushi at Yo Sushi parties (though you would have to avoid the raw fish ones) or how about a nice lunch or afternoon tea somewhere decadent? There are also things like pottery painting, over 30s discos (take place in the afternoon), a nice group hike, cinema or theatre trip, or a spa afternoon at the local hotel.

Yeah, personally I would enjoy this type of thing but Lush is very marmite (for various reasons) and I think you'd do well to get 50% attendance.

DonnaGiovanna · 27/12/2024 11:24

Afternoon tea somewhere fancy would be a great alternative.

I wouldn't want to go as perfume gives me migraines, so I couldn't cope. If it is a thing where you get free product, that would be nice, but if it is more like a tuppewear party where they try to get you to buy stuff, it would get annoying.

hesitsupallday · 27/12/2024 11:45

I wouldn't go to a Lush anything. I can't even walk past a store in a mall without my eyes watering!

TidyDancer · 27/12/2024 12:13

I love Lush products but they have a seriously questionable history when it comes to certain ethical issues. I wouldn't attend a party with them at the heart of it, sorry.

SprinklesandSparkles · 28/12/2024 17:38

Wow there is a lot of hate towards the smell of Lush on here. I know that 3 of the 4 people I'd invite would be up for it.

I think you can find something nice to do without turning it into an expectation to shop the products.

I'm not a fan as find it so pungent and expensive but, its what you and your friends want that matters.

How does it work? Do guests make a bath bomb or something and take it home? Do guests have to pay, or is it like a Tupperware party where guests feel obliged to buy something?

I've been to a yo sushi course and make it at home often. Pre-Christmas, I would have said a wreath making class. I've heard good things about the Waitrose cooking school. https://www.waitrose.com/ecom/content/waitrose-cookery-school?srsltid=AfmBOorH5KyDhDvhlUUmfM9bMzTxziKDcDg39R1hcTU-i0JhT_1qqKFX

Clearly not for everyone, but a colleague did a taxidermy workshop and stuffed a squirrel! https://www.afieldguide.org/workshops.html
