Cows milk allergy

Hi everyone,

I am hosting my son’s 4th birthday party in about 2 weeks and have invited his school class.
I asked for parents to tell me any allergies - and we have one child with a cows milk allergy.

Please could anyone give some suggestions about buffet foods that I can get for him so that he feels included and that there is enough for him ☺️

Thank you!

Crudités and humour

I quite like the sound of these. You could also try Crudités and Hummus? Xmas Grin

Party Rings are usually DF, same with Bourbon Biscuits and some own brand Jaffa Cakes but manufacturers are sods for changing ingredients so just check the label first.

If you're doing sandwiches I'd check the bread, most are DF though and maybe use something like Flora Buttery. The Mayo from Lidl is DF if you were thinking of mayo?

Co-op sausage rolls (most others have milk in)
cocktail sausages (again check because some sausages have milk in)
oreo cookies
most bourbon biscuits
bread sticks
sandwiches made with dairy free butter
vegan pizza

the main thing is labelling (I feel much better when the stuff is left in/with the original packaging because I can check ingredients.)

That's a really good point. If they do a buffet at work they now very kindly leave the packaging out for me when they realised that I hadn't been eating any of it.

Almost forgot OP, if you're doing any kind of crisps make sure you check the label. You'd be surprised how many flavours have milk in.

Sausages, chicken nuggets and chips are often safe party foods (just check labels! And keep for parents or send them a pic would be really appreciated!). Jellies work well and there’s lots of dairy free chocolate now - Asda do dairy free mini caterpillar cake (for one person) so they would be able to have a little piece of cake. Or the eggless cake shop sell dairy and egg free cake by the slice which is amazing (maybe like 2 pounds for a slice) so not expensive either. You sound amazing and it will be so appreciated for them to be included. Hope party goes well!
