We are hosting a Halloween party next weekend. I had planned to let them run around like loons, put on some food and do a pass the parcel. We also have a disco light to spice things up and a load of balloons.

should I be doing more structured games?! Kids are 4/5

We've had halloween parties for the last few years. We had halloween songs on the TV via Kids YouTube at that age too. Now they are a bit older it's a spooky spotify play list.
Lots of decorations, treats/ some hot food, I had a list of games one year but we didn't play any as they were just running around and playing. Incorporated going trick or treating too. Oh we did do apple bobbing, but 5 year olds won't generally be much good at it!

Do you have some disco music for them to dance to? Playing a few more games might calm them down - musical statues and musical bumps usually goes down well with DS, have a small prize for the winner if you can afford it. What about Apple bobbing or eating doughnuts hanging from a string, I think these were Halloween games when I was a child.

We do doughnut bobbing. Tie some mini doughnuts on to string, in good weather hang them from washing line, indoors we've had to improvise. Hands behind your back you have to get the doughnut with your mouth. Very funny.

Also do mummy wrap, wrapping someone up in loo roll.
