Going rate - gifts for 12 year old

DD is 12 and there are loads of parties going on. She’s got one today and the mum said the child would prefer cash / vouchers because they’re saving up. I’m fine with that, have known the child a while and never asked for this before.

ive gone for £15 plus a big bar of chocolate but is this enough? What’s the going rate for party gifts for this sort of age? She’s got loads coming up.

The last party the parent took them bowling and to five guys and it must have cost a lot so I felt a bit tight giving £10 and chocolate which is my usual sort of budget for non best friend friends. That was DH’s fault as sent him for a voucher and he came back with a tenner one.

For the 2-3 year old children parties I and the others have reciprocated with £30. 🤦🏻‍♀️
I feel £10 is too less but then depends on your financial circumstances

£10 and the chocolate is the going rate here.

For me it depends on how close DC is to the child but £10 in a card with a wee minding like box of chocolates/bathbomb or £20 in card with nothing else.
