Food for after birthday activity?

Quick question, ds (6) would like to go climbing for his birthday with 4 of his mates from school. I have booked a slot from 2pm to 3:30. There isn't time for eating during the activity and the venue itself doesn't really do food, apart from hot drinks and crisps. They also only have six tables available to sit on, so if unlucky there isn't enough seating available.

What do I do? No food offerings at all will make me look like Scrooge. Are party food boxes for taking home okay? Or would that be awkward as well? The climbing venue is on an industrial estate, so no cafés, pizza place etc nearby either.

If you have capacity in your car(s), I'd offer to take them to McDs then droop them home afterwards.

I think it's a bit odd to send them home with a food parcel.

If you can't manage to take them somewhere afterwards, then just make it really clear to the guests families "Really sorry, but there isn't anywhere at the venue we can do food, so it is just the activity and they'll likely come back hungry"

I don't drive, so that would not work unfortunately. Also the parents will stay as well. But thank you for the idea.

Just go with the drinks they offer (i assume they have cold drinks too?) and crisps. Give them a nice party bag to take home. The parents will be there and will see there is nothing else available.

2-3.30 isn’t really meal time anyway, I bet the kids would be more than happy with a lemonade and a bag of crisps after the climb! I’d be please with the just a snack idea as a parent because it throws all the other meal times off!

Drink and snacks sounds fine to me

Actually does the place allow you to take own food? Can you get a Macs delivered?
Can they reserve tables?

Deliveroo pizza in the car?

Thanks guys, I think I might go with the drinks and snack idea.
They are all fussy eaters, most birthday parties we have been too, food on plates was mostly uneaten. But snacks should be fine. I will put more effort in the party bags to make up for it.

But I think I will let everyone know beforehand, so that nobody is disappointed.

drinks, snacks. You could do hot dogs in a flask, nice and easy and they'll enjoy the warm food. Just take napkins and sachets/ bottle of ketchup. Gift bag, you can get away with a selection box which goes down well.
