Would normally do a voucher for this age group but am trying to think of presents in the hope that I won't have to spend so much! (Joint party so two presents needed...)

My son is 11, and all hes interested in is psp games, his phone and rugby. The problem obviously is the amount, they dont come cheap 11yr olds. Honestly all he would want would be cash or a voucher for a game store! But things I got him from time to time that hes showed mild interest in were a basket ball wash net that they hang on the door, you slam dunk your washing in, or a deodorant set, or a football, or in my sons case rugby, always got a rugby ball in his hand!! sorry but at this age its a bloody minefield, good luck

Thanks for that colacubes. I know vouchers are probably the best thing (in terms of something they will actually appreciate) but I would feel a bit mean giving less than a £10 one and then that is £20 for the two boys

I gave my nephews a £5 voucher at christmas each, thet didnt give it back!! It may be a small amount but they will not turn their nose up at a crispy fiver in a card, they add it to their stash and feel quite rich!!

But I know its a minefeild kids and pressies, give em a fiver each, nothing wrong with that. (wink)

agree fiver in a card each that's very generous

I'd get an itunes voucher if they have an ipod.

DS got a fiver in a card and a big bar of dairy milk. He was well impressed.

Ok sounds like £5 voucher is acceptable!

Even though I have been in the party game for years I still find it a minefield sometimes! Ds2 had a party recently and I was a bit at some of the presents he got - hope the parenst got them on sale cos they would have been £20 full price!

Well maybe do the fiver voucher and bag of sweeties route? Sure they still like sweets at that age.

My DS liked books like Ripley's "Believe it or not" and the Guiness Book of Records at that age. Book People/the Works usually have them cheaper than Amazon etc.
It's an odd kind of in-between age. They do like money, but still like presents to open.
