Party Ideas For 8 year old Boy

Im looking for some inspiration for my ds 8th birthday party.

He's had a traditional party at home before when he was 4 and a soft play party, last year we had a family day out to the zoo as we were in the middle of moving.

At the moment the trend in his class seems to be for hiring a hall and various different entertainers, though three have been the same one.

His birthday is 3 weeks after I've had major surgery which takes up to 12 weeks to recover from so, I don't to have to make shed loads of food for people.

Grateful for any suggestions:-)

Do you have any trampoline parks near buy. Really popular for parties round here.

Is there anything in the cinema with a fast food option on way home.

My son is 9 most parties are trampoline, nerf battles, zorb, astro football, bowling. A few movies, pitch and putt, games van. A few traditional parties with water gun battles out the back targets on washing line and a mystery solve the crime game

We hired a hall and had a nerf gun party come and deliver the party. I also got a local catering company to do the food. Cost is a bit dependent on whether you want whole class or can restrict it but it worked out very well per person. I was pregnant and it was my busiest time of year at work so wanted something that was minimal effort for me!

In my son's class (age 9/10) laser shooting, trampolining, climbing and swim parties are popular amongst the boys at the moment. He wants a aqua park one this year. Spy Mission is another one I can think of.

Gaming buses are the most popular for that age here. Plus they're the easiest party. 90 minutes on the bus and come in the house for pizza for half an hour.

You can get really reasonable prices at the local leisure centre - inflatable swim parties, rent the hall to put in a bouncy castle/nerf wars/football/roller blades party. Downside you probably have to cater yourself, but at that age they don't need much. Few sandwiches, crisps and biscuits.

Or outsource the whole thing and get somewhere that does party packages. Soft play, laser tag, trampoline park, clip n climb, escape room, local animal farm.

To add: My boys had a nerf wars party at that age and it was really good, one of the most memorable birthdays. We hired the leisure centre sports hall and got a company in who set up equipment (bit like huge soft play stuff - tunnels, cubes etc to hide behind) and run the games. The kids loved it, it was carnage.

I love in a small town so the only thing here for parties is soft play and various halls to hire everything for.

It'd be a 30 min dirve to any of the ideas suggested, wich I don't mind.

Bowling could be a hit- have to say I hadn't thought of that. The Nerf gun party does too. I live literally a two minute walk from the swimming pool but they don't do pool parties, can you believe it?! Game bus hadn't crossed my mind either, will be looking that up for sure!

Thanks so much.

We had someone called the Animal Man. There is probably similar in your area. The bonus is that he makes the children sit quietly while he introduces them to a variety of birds, animals and insects including a scorpion and a snake which he puts across their legs.
