Combining 3 parties into one

dd's birthdays and end of feb, beginning of march and beginning sept.

i am fed up of doing three seperate birthdays and dd1+3 (feb + march) want an outdoor teaparty which dd2 usually has in sept (summer holidays) but feb/march is too cold generally.

I am thinking of having small family do's on their actual birthdays (meal and bowling), then suring summer half term having a big party for all three dd's in the garden.

if i do soft play its about £180 for 15kids. times that by 2, is an awful lot of money.

so big tea party in the garden would work out a lot cheaper.

should i hire a clown/magician? as it will be for all 3 dd's. how much is a good price?

i am more excited than the kids lol.

i think it will be a fairies/pirates theme lol.

I think that sounds like a great idea. Mate hired a magician, think it was about £200

How about crafty stuff? bouncy caslte hire etc?

we have big trampoline and climbing frame. no room for bouncey castle.

i can face paint.

think my friends dad is a magician.

or shall i get dh to learn some tricks?

oh yes DO
it will be v funny for you to watch

don't get a clown, they're terrifying (to me and most children!)

misdee · 28/01/2008 14:41

i have a phobia of clownsm, so no chance.

oh good. me too!

Do you know what would be fab? A bubble machine (one of those handheld thingies from elc and similar)

Make sure you either own or hire or borrow some sort of fabric gazebo or marquee. Because you cannot rely on it not raining at any time of year.

madmaz, i was thinking of adding if it rains its cancelled on the invitations. as although we have a big garden we have a small home.

Misdee: i think you need to look at some sort of back up plan for bad weather, because if it does rain you will have three DDs howling piteously all day, and if it's grey, overcast or looks like it might rain your ddsand potential guests will drive you demented by asking you every 5 minutes if the party is going to happen or not
