Do you cater for adults at a childs birthday party?

Having DD's party in local community hall, with about 10 children (aged 3/4). Simple food for kids, but is it usual to cater for parents?

If you expect the parents to stay then I think there should be something there for them to nibble on and drink, nothing fancy, it's just nice if there is something!

You mean, like couple bottles of wine? Good idea IMO.

Hi Muumyofgirls, there are several similar threads on this topic. Overriding consensus tends to be that you don't need to cater for parents. HOWEVER, at 3/4 I'd say you want as many parents to stay as possible and it's a good opportunity to get to know parents if you don't already. Personally, I always provided tea, coffee, fruit juice and wine/punch as an option (alcohol definitely optional) . A selection of dips and tortilla chips plus over cater for the children so the parents can mine sweep would be enough IMO

Excellent nibbles and drinks it is then!
