Hi. My DD is 18 this month and is Shakespeare obsessed. She's not really got any ideas about what she wants and so I'm looking for something Shakespeare related. I've looked on The Globe Shop and also RSC shop. I'd like to get her a ring, bracelet or bangle with a quote. Can anyone recommend a shop or website? I'm wanting something to last, not cheap and cheerful. Any other ideas would be most welcome too.

Why not book a Globe Theatre tour and a play? If you wanted to hand something physical over there are some rather sweet antiquarian miniature books with one of the plays in - there are usually lots on ebay.

Have a look at the National Theatre shop - they have some cool Shakespeare stuff !

Do you know her favourite quotes? If you want something lovely, look on Etsy. There are some lovely jewelry stores on there and you'll get something from a small business that way.

And just for fun, get a photograph of her made to look like a Shakespearean character...this place does digital art like that...they don't send you the actual print but a downloadable one and you print it yourself. www.etsy.com/au/shop/LythiumArt?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=931644786

Have a look on the www.theliterarygiftcompany.com/
They are brilliant for book jewellery, clothing stationery and games.

There's an amazing board game "The Bard Game" which is great fun to play and has opportunities to gain extra points with quoting from memory if you know a bit, or reading from a card or answering trivia questions, as well as moving around a map of London collecting scripts, actors and props to put on plays. I don't know how easy it would be to get hold of a copy but I guarantee she will love it.

When you say ‘Shakespeare obsessed’ … I can imagine being obsessed with the written plays and / or with particular productions - but that wouldn’t translate into any interest in extraneous objects that have no real connection to the original dramatic works.

Presumably she already goes to lots of plays? Does she act or direct or get involved in any way herself? Have you exhausted all the RSC Supporters and Friends schemes? Or would those not be of interest?

Thank you everyone. She's obsessed with the plays, seeing them, acting them... We are in the northwest so getting to Stratford is tricky but London is easy although expensive. There's lots of good ideas there for me to browse.

I think a trip to SuA would be the best thing. Take the train. Go and see a play, and also the church where he is buried. Memories to last a lifetime and way better than random themed tat.

Summer course at a drama school. They’re usually ruinously expensive - so very suitable for a significant birthday.

Lots of lovely jewelry on Etsy.

Now … THIS is what you want, OP.

Although, admittedly, the travel would be a pain. (Though young people go further for music lessons …)

I should think there would be something similar in Birmingham …

Look at the literary emporium on etsy.

Tickets for the Lord Chamberlain's Men (traditional Shakespearean troupe) they perform in outdoor theatres in the summer but not sure when the tickets go on sale.

I bought Dd the Shakespeare an dictionary which she liked.

@EdmontinaDancesWithOphelia the course looks fab but I'm not sure about the travel late at night!
However looking at everyone's suggestions, I've bought her a friends membership for the Globe and there are some webinars coming up on a text she is studying. And of course there is the whole year to get use of it.
