How much for a party?

How much would you consider reasonable for a party in terms of total cost?
Was thinking of a gymnastics party for my 5 year old or soft play and thinking of inviting the whole class although hoping not everyone will turn up as it’s in December anyway.

How long is a piece of string?! Everyone will have different limits depending on income etc.
I've done £300 parties, and £20 parties, depending on how flush I'm feeling at the time.

I think the average is probably around £200 thinking back to all the parties dd has had and attended.

Average £200
Always turns out more than you think

If you invite the whole class you have to expect they may all turn up. I would set your budget then phone round different places to find out costs. Remember to factor in the cost of food/drink too. Some places provide this and other you have to bring your own. Then there are invitations, prizes, party bags and a cake.

If you hire a sports venue they'll have a standard charge, some kids not showing up (if it happens) won't bring the price down. Are there any leisure centres nearby? They'll give you a price, and let you know whether they'll cater for you or have facilities for you to do it yourself.

Yes one of the cheaper ones we did around that age was hire a church hall, a bouncy castle, a face painter and a glitter tattooist. Then just did basic party buffet food ourselves

Hi thanks for the replies. It’s all so new to me. With my oldest I never had that worry when he was in mainstream and now he’s in a class of 8 so his last party was about £150 for trampolining although would have gone to £200. It will be a once off. I guess I’m just paranoid as no one appears to be doing parties at the moment.
