Hi there

My soon to be 8 year old is wanting to have a gaming party - is this literally him playing switch video game with 10 of his friends? So no socialising at all? How do they typically run..? Sorry for what may be a bunch of silly questions 🤣

I’m tempted to say no as I don’t see the point lol

Our nearest one is a pitch black sweat pit

Dark room with low LED lights. 30 or so gaming chairs. All the kids literally log on and play ps5 / xbox or whatever

It stinks. The boys love it

The staff don't take any notice of what's being played so they can go on CoD etc

thanks @workyticket! I honestly dont get it but maybe its because im used to the usual party setups :D

Do they tend to have a break after an hour half then eat/cake?

It's the most anti social party ever. Of course they like it because it involves gaming but it always feel a bit sad.

I think it really depends on the provider!
DS went to one which was a mobile van set-up, which parked on the drive of birthday boy's house. The children also had activities they could do in the garden (e.g. an obstacle course, football goal and balls, make their pizza in pairs at a table, which was then cooked for them and they ate, etc.
They certainly didn't spend two straight hours on a console, not communicating with anyone.
The games were age appropriate too, with some big group/party type games so they were interacting with one another.
He loved it!
