This may have been done before so forgive the question; it's my neice's 7th birthday coming up and I'd really love some ideas. I have a ds so am utterly, utterly clueless about girls and what's cool.

Could you tell me what your 7 yr old girl LOVES to death at the moment, or what she would want if only you'd buy it for her?

Budget about £25, £30ish at most.

my dd is 7 and her list would be something like this:

A pair of Healies (the wheeled trainer shoe death-trap things - still unsure about this one as she falls over all the time without the addition of wheels)

Anything Polly pocket

Pixel chix (virtual game, like tamagotchi sort of thing)

If she's a girly girl then anything from accessorize or monsoon's children's section (ie sparkly bags, hair slides etc)

I'd stay away from Bratz as lots of parent's hate them, dd's got some but I'm not mad keen myself...

I'd also keep away from Dinsey Princess stuff as dd is just coming out of this 'phase' at nearly 8...

HTH

my dd has just had her 6th birthday but cant imagine much difference really!

list consisted of:

HSM - anything and everything !
Betty Spaghetti Dolls
Barbie Stuff
Polly Pocket
MP3 player which was about £25 and we put some music on it ready for her to listen to - this went down fantastically!!

DD has on her current wishlist:

Hello Kitty electric toothbrush
A book of Maze games
Special pens/notebooks/stickers
Play makeup and perfume (interesting since I don't wear much of either)
My Littlest Petshop bits/pieces (not sure it's sold in the UK)
Camera (they make some inexpensive ones for kids)
High School Musical 1 & 2 DVDs (even though she's never seen the show/movie/whatever it is )
The first Harry Potter book/movie

A few more ideas:

magazine subscriptions (she loves getting post)
A book about the ocean/its' animals, and a big seashell that she can 'hear' the sea in

My dd is 6 and a bit.

She loves Polly Pocket
Rainbow Magic books
Any other books
Stationery sets of any kind
Skipping

She is also getting High School Musical for Chrimbo tho she has no idea she wants it

I bet she would love a DS but that's out of yr price league. Maybe a new game for one?

HonoriaGlossop · 08/10/2007 10:17

Thanks again everyone.

Thanks to you I've now got some ideas;

Either a HSM MP3 player which is £30 in Argos, OR some sparkly hair things or ear-rings from Accessorize (she had her ears pierced at 6 )and a book.

I've got her books in the past as an antidote to all the Bratz craperoo that she gets....but I don't suppose she is that thrilled with a book

So do I go for the MP3, or the Ear-rings and book combo?

And why have I lost the power of independent thought?

Thank goodness for mn!

Bother! You've already decided. I was going to suggest some roller blades.

cherrycake · 08/10/2007 10:40

MP3 player, you will be the cool Auntie then!
My 6 yr old was given one by her older cousin, thinks she's the bees knees!

HonoriaGlossop · 08/10/2007 10:42

good idea pesto, if it was another child that may have swayed me actually as roller blades are SUCH good fun, but my neice is not a physical child at all, she's physically timid and wouldn't cope with them very well at all, bless her! Thanks though...

ok, so cool Auntie if I buy the MP3...might have to go for that
