hello,

this is a bit of a silly question, I have a 19 month dd and although i know some mums in the area and am slowly becoming familiar with other mums at the regular classes etc, i wouldn't say I know loads of other parents. At her next birthday is it okay to invite the other toddlers even though I don't know the parents well, how likely are they to turn up? Basically is there an etiquette to birthdays? i guess you could say i overthink!!!!!!
not sure this goes other parenting!

thanks for any advice

Hello yingers 74.
Go on and invite away.
When ds1 started playschool i knew no one so i ask for a list of names and invited the lot.
DS2 has just started reception and has been invited to a party on Sunday along with everyone else in the class.
Yes its a mine field but how else are they going to make friends as at that age they can't say oh lets ask so and so as we play together.
I AM SURE LOTS OF PEOPLE WILL COME
Have a lovely time. And just think of all the new friends you can make,

I would invite as many as you want even if you dont know the mums. Theres something about refusing a birthday invite that fills me with dread...Oh its that imagine noone came to my dds partys!!!!
So I go to all for that reason!

I know what you mean Charliecat, have been making a huge effort trying to say hello to other mums so when the time comes, they will find it hard to say NO. I also go to all parties, a couple of months ago we were about to go on holiday but before we went we spent half an hour at a 1 year olds birthday!
