My baby will be 1 in 2 months time and I know that soon people will be asking what to get her. What are good things to ask for which are value for money, fun, hardwearing etc? Thanks.

inset jigsaws
pull-along toys
robust see-saw
soft building blocks
other than that too long ago for me to remember what mine had at that age! But I would say that she will develop an awful lot over the next year, so I wouldn't worry about asking for stuff for 18 months old too, so you can put it away for when she's ready for it.
Early Learning Centre used to be pretty reliable for good quality toys with lots of play value and fairly accurate age guides, i used to browse their catalogue for reliable ideas at birthday/Christmas time. I'm sure someone will tell you if that's no longer the case

I just bought a friends DD for her 1st birthday a fabric reward chart from this website www.toosmallforschool.co.uk after seeing their advert on here, they are doing 10% discount for Mners too.
I just thought its something that will keep for afew years even though she'll be a bit young yet. something built to last and not another outfit/book/random bit of silver coloured junk (a la Christening 'gifts') lol

I've lined up a wooden doll's pram for mine since it can double up as a wooden walker. Also have my eye on a cow wheelybug which makes a nice alternative ride on.
