Thinking of booking it for DD and just wanted some feedback first.

Are you talking about the one in London Colney?. Haven't been to a party there but I went there on a weekday with DH and DD and they claimed on their website that all the shows and activites happened everyday regardless of school hols etc and that certainly wasn't the case. The place was deserted of staff and none of the events advertised took place. It was still a nice day out for DD but considering it cost £15 entry for me and DH I was not impressed. Hopefully they put more effort in when it's school hols.

I've never been to a party but we have an annual membership as it is just down the road from us and our ds loves it. The room they have the food in doesnt look all that great but I am sure the children enjoy looking at the animals etc and dont really care about that.

Hi,
went up there yesterday to take a second look at it before booking party there.

I love the farm and because it's the hols they had tons to do (like 4jen, i went midweek and was nothing on!) but the restaurant is horrid! Really nasty place run by spotty teenagers.

Think it may be back to the drawing board!

Vicx ... they dont actually serve them food in the restaurant but in one of the back rooms behind the indoor play area (where the ball pit and sand area is). Not that that makes any difference to the food they serve! You could always take your own picnic and eat outside I suppose!

Didn't even realise there was a back room with a ball pit! Is it any nicer?

When you are in the first barn (where the guinea pigs are) there is an entrance on your left ... go through there and there is a room with a small ball pit, a slide that goes down into a sand pit and a couple of wendy houses set into the sand .... and off there are rooms which they use for parties I think. Pretty basic ... but then again, thats not really what the children are there for I suppose! How old is your dd?

newgirl · 30/07/2007 19:51

ive taken my dd to a couple of parties at willows - the parties are held in the party barn and you can have up to three parties happening at the same time although each area is divided off

food is pretty ropey - chips etc

i think a few adults get in free to help etc but otherwise its not a great deal better than just going yourselves

southeastastra · 30/07/2007 19:53

the party barn looks pretty grim doesn't it!

Vicx · 30/07/2007 22:58

My DD is only 3 so to be fair if i took her to an old warehouse with a loft pigeon in she would prob think it's the best party ever!

She loves the farm and the animals which is the important thing. That being said i don't really want to shell out loadsa money for cold chips in a grim party barn.

I'm warming bodiddly's suggestion of paying for entry and packing a picnic.

you could even take those Happy-meal type boxes with you filled with things for each of them so it makes it easy when you are there ...

newgirl · 31/07/2007 18:54

to be fair my dd loved the parties she went to there - im just not sure if they are great value or not
