Hiya my name is Jo and i need ideas for my daughters 8th birthday. The trouble is no one ever invites her to their birthdays and all she has is 2 or 3 friends. So no point in inviting class but i cant do most party packages for places as just not enough kids not only that but we live in a tiny flat so cant do anything at home.

A bit stumped for ideas any help

Trampoline park or bowling followed by a meal out ( burger/pizza)?

NotGenerationAlpha · 25/03/2019 15:56

Plenty of parties are only 2 or 3 friends. With such a small number, you don't need to book a package. DD has been to bowling and cinema with friends small little parties. Other ideas I have, in addition to trampoline park, are pottery studios, rock climbing centre, ice skating and go cart. Or maybe even somewhere like alton towers depending on your budget? With only 3 or 4 of them, you can fit them all in a car!

NotGenerationAlpha · 25/03/2019 16:00

Oh but if it's something like trampoline park, do call ahead and book (not as a party, but just a group of 3 or 4). They tend to get very full up. You can also do after school which is cheaper than weekend. Pick them all up from school, and let the other parents pick them up at your flat? Can you fit them all in front of the TV while they wait for pick up? Otherwise you can offer to drop them off back at their parents?

I don't know where you are, rural or urban. If it's rural and driving, then dropping back off at their home would be easier than trying to drag 3 kids all over town unless they all live very local.

DD's 8th and 9th Birthday was a trampoline park followed by a meal then back to ours for cake and a play. She only invited 2 friends. At her 8th one of her friends couldn't go (sick) so there was only one. She had a great time

Have you seen The Great Indoor Sleepovers? They come to your house and set up a small indoor camp with tents and mattresses and fairy lights. Really special. It would be perfect for a small group with a movie and party food. Hope your daughter has a fantastic birthday.

thank you

well there is a trampoline park near were we live and there is a pizza hut opposite.Problem is it says you can't book a table online at pizza hut which would mean doing that maybe tricky.

Theme parks are very far away at least a hour and a half drive i dont think as her friends parents dont know us well enough to take them for so long.

but as for sleepover our flat is not only small but we have a neighbor that screams, swears and shouts day and night.I dont think any one would be comfortable visiting our home.

Cinema ?

Mmmhmmokdear · 25/03/2019 16:16

I took my DD and her two best friends for pizza and cinema on her last birthday. They all loved it.

NotGenerationAlpha · 25/03/2019 16:17

How busy is the pizza hut? Are you doing it weekday after school? If you can't book online, can you book in person? If it's not likely to be very busy, I'm sure they don't mind a bit of queueing. Are there alternatives around trampoline park? Like mcdonalds or nandos?

NotGenerationAlpha · 25/03/2019 16:17

I mean weeknights are usually not busy for eating out and you don't need to book.

NotGenerationAlpha · 25/03/2019 16:18

How about build a bear too? Ask your daughter what are places she likes to go? Are there any of them near a fast food type or family friendly restaurant.

NWQM · 25/03/2019 16:18

What sorts of thing is she in to?

Would she enjoy you giving her a budget and her coming up with a plan?

May sound odd but if she hasn't asked does she actually want a party?

ThisThatAndTother · 25/03/2019 16:20

Cinema and then eat out.

rosydreams · 25/03/2019 16:29

from experience with party's most people seem to be free Sundays so was thinking then. But the trampoline park is in a entertainment complex with a few different restaurants.I didn't think kids were really into nandos but theres also a tgi Fridays and ask but i thought pizza hut more kid friendly. But there is also a mc donalds so i guess if the pizzahut was packed to bursting its not the end of the world.

cinema would not be a bad idea i get half price tickets just a shame i had a look at uk release dates and there does not seem to be anything out around the time of my daughters birthday i think that would be a hit.Her birthday early may

she has gone on and on about her birthday for months shes says she excited for a surprise with her friends.I think all she expects is to play with her friends and some cake like last year when we booked a indoor playpark with her classmates

Trampoline park followed by pizza hut would be great for 8 year old girls. And a nice little party bag (not too much tat, as there's so few, maybe some nice little stationery things and some sweets).

NotGenerationAlpha · 26/03/2019 08:06

But the trampoline park is in a entertainment complex with a few different restaurants.

I think you've got it sorted then Smile. If pizza hut is full, it's not the end of the world with so many alternatives. I agree with having some party bags sorted too. It'll be a nice party.
