How to not ask for a present for a 'half birthday'?!

Friend has a toddler born on Boxing Day (2005). Due to its proximity to Christmas, she wants him to have birthday celebrations at his 'half-birthday' in June.

Some friends naturally already bought him presents for his 'actual' birthday. How can she word the party invites to say that people shouldn't feel the need to bring a present if they already gave one (pref without suggesting to those who haven't already been generous that they shouldn't )?

A boy in ds1's class has his birthday at Christmas and they've always done a half-birthday in June. I think because it's always been that way everyone's used to it and I've never heard anyone react negatively to it. It's a good idea, I think. He's 10, we've known him from 3.

I don't think he really gets anything on his actual birthday, though they do mark it, he just has a lovely summer birthday party (I have 3 winter-born dcs)
