GBBO birthday party??

DS will be 9 in October and wants a GBBO party....note not a THEMED party, he wants to actually do GBBO.

So I guess we could have 3 friends over, give everyone a recipe and ingredients and let them get on with it, then the 4 children can all judge each other? Decorate the house in British bunting, while cake/biscuits/whatever are cooking they can have the birthday tea (I dunno....cream tea themed?!)

If there's only 4 of them I think we can cope, we have two ovens so could do up to 6 maybe. Could get them all an apron or a baking set to take home....

I would keep it really simple, like rice Krispie cakes with various optional toppings like, chic chips marshmallows etc, that way they will all make something delicious. Plus no egg everywhere .

Sounds great. If you did muffin pizzas and then some cake or biscuit, that would also be the food sorted! My 8 yr old would love it.

Oooooh making their own pizza dough for pizza as well as pud is a great idea!

You could pre make a sponge cake for each of them to decorate for the showstopper and they could take that home.

I did this with my kids club. Each group got basic ingredients and a recipe for fairy cakes, plus icing sugar. Then there were a whole lot of extras, they got to pick 3 each and had to decide what went in their cakes and what went on them. I may have gone slightly ott with "bakers, you have x mins before your cakes need to be in the oven" etc, but they loved it!

Cakes were judged on taste, appearance, and best overall.

I had about 15 kids (and 3 leaders as well as me!!!!) and they were in 3 groups. They made the cake mixture as a group, but decorated their own cakes individually. With less kids they could do their own cake mix too. It was a lot of fun, and the boys enjoyed it as much as the girls. I think the competitive element helped them take it seriously!!

I did something similar for my DD's birthday and they made cup cakes and then decorated them. They loved it!
