Cancelling on the day

It's dd's bday party in less than two hours. Three people have emailed to cancel This morning. At £12.50 a head, plus party bag that's like £45 pissed down the drain. If they'd told me before I could have filled the space or told the venue. Not to mention sad for dd (7) to have lost a quarter of her guests hours before.

Unless their dcs are sick, that's pretty rubbish.

That's a bit crap. Do you know anyone that can fill the spaces?

People are so rude now, they do what they want and don't give a damn about anyone else. My friend had a party for her 10 year old twins recently with an entertainer and it cost a couple of hundred pounds, nobody who said they were coming actually came.
Apparently there was a fair on locally and they all went to that instead - disgusting.

Dd had a lovely time, there were 12 kids altogether for bowling and lunch which was actually a great number. But it definitely wound me up; cancelling happens, yes, legitimate reasons happen, yes. But 2 hours before because they've "just remembered X was happening" is just plain rude.

I am not one to hold grudges. Except for these circumstance, I would always remember that one stored in the back and front of my mind for future events

I once had every single guest turn up to DS's soft play party late, mostly because it was a Saturday and they had other plans but had not left themselves enough time to then travel to the party . One was only 5 minutes late but one turned up an hour late to a 90 minute party. People are rude.

I held my dds party last Sunday too and had a similar experience! Out of a whole nursery of 30 I had 11 RSVPs, 9 of which said they'd come and only 6 actually did. Luckily we had cousins and kids of family friends present so there were a good few there but still annoying, not to mention rude!!!!!

What's more, I've actually walked past the parents who blatantly failed to turn up despite saying they would and they've not even asked she had a nice party or said sorry or anything!! No worries if they genuinely couldn't come but a text or call to say so?!?

I put loads of effort in and had tons of food leftover, was so upset but dd wasn't bothered and had a great time. Why are people so damn rude and inconsiderate!!?
