Just the above- thinking of having a party at the cinema kids club for a 6th birthay party. It's a PG. Many thanks

My nearly 7 year old loved it, so I'd think it was fine. I'd guess that is about the age group it's aimed for.

My 5 year old girl loved it and she scares easily

My 6 year old loved it and he is easily scared (won't watch teenage mutant hero turtle cartoons). It's actually quite good for adults as well (ie you aren't bored watching it!).

My 5.5 and 4 year olds love this. We had to go see it twice at the cinema. Right now we are watching the TV series that you can get on DVD - DD2 insisted on 'dragons' today. I have the last DVD Defenders of Berk and the 2nd film on pre-order for November. I am personally looking forwards to it and DD1 sulks as it's not here NOW.

Yes from our household!

it does involve a death if a character...just so you are aware if you have a sensitive child

My 5yo was invited to see it for another child's birthday and decided it was going to be too scary (despite having enjoyed the 1st film). Having read the plot summary at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_to_Train_Your_Dragon_2 I agree - but maybe the average 6yo is a bit braver. If the birthday is around now and you're inviting classmates remember that friends with August birthdays are still only just 5 and may not be quite as mature.

www.kids-in-mind.com/h/howtotrainyourdragon2.htm

Link is a parent review laying out the different themes etc in the film.

My 6 yo and 9 yo watched httyd 2 and part liked it, but part didn't. The things discussed in the link above mostly passed me and my DC by, but the main thing was the death of one of the characters (the dad - sorry about spoiler but it makes it worse for kids) - which my 2 didn't like all. Actually thinking about it for a bday party film I think I'd avoid as both of my DS cried - they are sensitive but then at a party you're going to have some that are.

My 3yo loved it, she found one bit a bit upsetting though.

7 year old DS loved it - he's now obsessed with dragons and has read all the books in the series but he's not a particularly sensitive child.

It is quite dark and scary in places and sad too.

My 6 year old loved it.
