7yo party - am I missing something?

DD1 has requested an "at home" party this year negotiated down from a sleepover

I'm sure I'm missing something though. This is the plan: (by the way, not in UK, and it's winter here, so outside play not an option)

Total 14 7yo girls oh dear god help me
Time: 2:30 - 4:00
Frozen theme (DD is obsessed, she doesn't know I'm making the party a "Frozen Party")

Kids arrive, do some dancing and general playing. DH is in charge of decor - he has plans involving paper snowflakes and fairy lights.

Once everyone has arrived: games: pin the nose on Olaf, musical statues, etc etc

About 3:15 party food
Sandwiches
Cupcakes
Fruit skewers
Biscuits
(Maybe jelly and icecream)
Popcorn
"Olaf noses" (baby carrots)

Then cake
(Almost all the food with have to be home made/baked as DD2 has dairy and egg allergies and I'd like to not have to stress about her getting things she isn't allowed have, which will truly ruin the party).

After cake, more dancing, maybe one more game. DD has made noises about a piñata so DH may be looking into that.

All go home at 4:00 and I collapse in a heap with a large gin.

But I feel like I'm missing something. The party is 10 days away.

Any expert advice gladly welcomed. I thought of doing something crafty with them at some stage...

Oh sod it, and party bags too. There will have to be party bags, won't there?

I have just recovered from a frozen party I threw for dd last Sunday!

For the cake I made blue ice - melted clear mints. Added food colouring then poured into silicon tray and left to harden again. Then smashed it so it broke into big shards which I then decorated the cake with.

I did spare snowman parts - marshmallows, raisins, baby carrots and Twiglets.

Little pots of chocolate fondue and fruit kebabs to dip in

Game wise we did steal the carrot from Sven, melt the heart (hearts frozen in ice cubes). I made a snow monster out of boxes and they had to throw balls at it, musical trolls (musical bumps) pin the nose on olaf,

I also got some snowflake crowns from a craft website which they had to colour in.

ooh I need more info BrieandChilli.

right melted clear mints with blue food colouring - I have seen this on the internet. stupid question - how do you melt it, in a bowl in the microwave or on a tray in the oven or what? I have seen so many different ways online and am confused.

spare snowman parts sounds great.

Steal the carrot from sven? please elaborate and are you supergood at drawing to be able to draw a sven?

ice cubes are out sadly because we won't have a freezer that week - long story.

snowballs sounds good - saw some polystyrene balls in the £1 shop the other day actually.

thanks for the suggestions - sorry to hijack OP.

ah ok just seen your description of steal the carrot on another post - so it doesn't involve drawing sven, relief!

Sounds perfect! Your lucky daughter.

Expect your Olaf noses to be left over.

Skewers - any potential danger?

Have the DVD ready as they may be happy just to rewatch it while eating.

Enjoy!

I would photocopy 28 of the same Frozen pictures for a colouring competition with a prize......Just for when it starts to tip over into chaos before the food Wink
28 Just in case you need to do it twice!

I melted the mints in a saucepan with a little bit of water, I also crushed the mints first.

For Sven I got some antlers and a blindfold and they took it in turns being Sven, I could have spent ages on this game as they all wanted a go.

Not sure if they will still have them but baker Ross/yellow moon had snowflake bracelet kits, packs of 3 for 1.99 which were lovely and great for party bags or as a craft activity.
I got snowflake party bags, snowflake crowns and other snowflake stuff from littlecraftybugs. All really good value and quick delivery.

I also got a pack of cheap hair clips and glued some foam snowflake stickers to them, aparently all the girls wore them to school the next day! Cheap and easy to make.

For the snowballs I found some big bouncy balls in the 99p shop. They were clear with water and sparkly bits in and a flashing light that was set off when you threw it.

You could have a fess the snowman competition.
Put children into teams.
Give each a white toilet roll,a hat and scarf, some sticky black circles and orange triangle.
They then race to turn one of their team into a snowman.

It gave dd and her friends tons of fun at Christmas - and they were a fair bit older at 11/12y

I can see a snowman/toilet roll game being a huge hit.

Don't forget drinks! Jugs of water or squash. Dancing and partying is thirsty work.

I have DD2's 11th party on Sunday, and we've invited the whole of Y6 (48 children).Tell me I'm not insane.
