Last year ds wanted a birthday party where he & his friends could play nerf guns. I investigated & came up with laser tag but it was really really expensive do we didn't do it.

In the holidays he sometimes goes to a forest school outdoor adventure type place & they do nerf gun days.

I found out they now do parties. It's a set price for a nerf gun battle party for 12 children

There are 14 boys in ds class at school. If I invite all 14 a few are bound not to be able to come arnt they?

The party will be during half term the week after their week long residential.

However if all 14 do come I'm stuffed.

Why don't you just invite 12 children? Hmm

Juno77 · 20/01/2014 14:25

Also, 14 children is a tiny class! Wow.

Picturesinthefirelight · 20/01/2014 14:36

There are 24 in the class, the rest are girls.

If it's outdoors, can you not just pay for the two extra boys?

Juno77 · 20/01/2014 14:44

Why are you only inviting the boys? Confused

jojane · 20/01/2014 14:45

I did this for a go karting party, invited 18 when max was 16 and it worked out ok.
Could you invite 12 originally (ie in plenty of time) and then invite the final two if spots open up?
Alternatively leave invites til quite late so peop,e have other stuff booked in, but then you run the risk of not very many at all coming

Because ds doesn't play with the girls - he'd like to, but they tell him to go away as he bugs them.

He has always invited girls & boys in the past but only 1 ever turned up.

And I can't afford a whole class party.

OldBean - I'm guessing its to do with staff child ratios

Really? That is so odd! At DS school, there isn't really a gender divide.

I wonder what has caused that?

How old is your ds Juno? As they get older they tend to split off more according to their interests.

He is 9.

He just has his 9th party, and there was a mixture of boys and girls. He gets invited to both boys are girls parties.

I've actually started a thread over on feminism boards because this has totally intrigued me.

Hi op just wondered who runs nerf parties?thanks

Picturesinthefirelight · 27/01/2014 22:10

Its a place called Wildwood in Staffordshire

Ds has been off school ill so invites only went out today.

DS went to girl's and boys' 8th parties, and invited a mix to his, but sadly that was the last year it happened (that said, not many parties at all since then).

OP - I would invite them all and cross your fingers firmly.

8th?Confused I swear I wrote 9th.
