hi all. i'm assuming lunch is the best option and am thinking of 11:30 - 2:30. that way little ones can be away in time for an afternoon nap. also - would you feed kids first, then adults, or all at once..? thanks.

We are having dd2's 1st birthday party from 3pm -5.30pm. However, she has her afternoon nap just after lunch so is awake by 3pm.

I'll do tea for the babies and just nibbles and wine for the adults.

3 hours sounds pretty long for a first party, unless the guests are coming from a long way away. I've been looking at advice on party-planning and most sites seem to suggest 1 and a half or 2 hours.

We're having a joint party for dd1 (who'll be 3) and dd2 (who'll be 1) and it'll probably be 3 - 4.30pm because they both have naps after lunch. We're planning on feeding everyone at once.

I would feed kids first - with 1 year olds it's going to be a bit hit and miss isn;t it!

Then adults with a help yourself buffet, so they can take turns.

DS is having his 2nd birthday party soon & it's going to be approx 2 hours from 3-5, children will sit round table and adults will help themsleves to nibbles & wine.
