DS will be 3 in August and is telling anyone who will listen that he is having a Peter Pan party. At some point I must have agreed to this! He of course will be Peter Pan. Apart from that, what do I do? Help!

Pirates for the boys, tinkerbell for the girls!

There's loads of pirate stuff out there
DS had pirate party, I did pirate Money boxes and choc coins and candy bracelets for party bags
DS has a peterpan outfit I found on the internet. Really cheap and nasty but does the job!
He loves Peter pan
Actually check out Jake and neverland pirates, hook is the same really

Years ago burger king gave away pp toys. I found loads from some guy on eBay, still in packaging!

Confuseddd · 26/06/2012 22:53

You could dress up as the Indian princess and get someone to tie you up then children have to untie you?

Make little tinkerbells and hide them round the house to find.

Dress up as pirates and 'kidnap' some of the children, then everyone else has to rescue them. Get foam or inflatable cutlasses so you can have a fun wrestle/ battle

pbandj · 26/06/2012 22:57

"Pirates for the boys, tinkerbell for the girls!"
huh?
really?

I'll have you know that my toddler girl self won FIRST PRIZE in a fancy dress competition and got my picture in the local paper for dressing up as the man himself! (peter pan)

DS would way rather wear his wings then the pirate stuff in his dressing up box that he always ignores

why would you specify: girls tinkerbell boys pirates, bit boring!, there's loads of other characters, red indians (tigerlilly is my FAV!), nanna the dog etc let people choose!

uselesslife · 26/06/2012 23:01

I knew someone would object to that!
I just meant there's something for everyone

pbandj · 26/06/2012 23:01

(and in the book there are boy fairies, girl fairies, and "not sure" fairies)

pbandj · 26/06/2012 23:04

Play what's the time Mr wolf crocodile?
(3yos love what's the time Mr wolf)

pbandj · 26/06/2012 23:05

pin the tail on the mermaid

IHeartKingThistle · 26/06/2012 23:05

I do quite fancy being TigerLily, weirdly! These are great ideas!

Yep I don't think I'd make things that gender specific but it's great that it's a story where everyone will find a character they love. DD wants to be Wendy because Wendy wears a blue nightie Smile

DH has a huge nose and chin. He's Hook Grin

Would a treasure hunt be beyond a 3 year old, do you think? Quite a few of the kids will be older - I wouldn't want them figuring it all out before DS even got started!

I tried a 3YO treasure hunt at easter - I wouldn't bother again!

pbandj · 26/06/2012 23:09

but ya could make a treasure box to put the party bags in

uselesslife · 26/06/2012 23:15

You could just hide the chocolate coins, nothing too difficult

pbandj · 26/06/2012 23:20

that's all I did with the mini eggs, but every time one found one you'ld have to go and find some for the others IYKWIM, they were a bit young to get the whole hunt thing and just saw that one of them had a choc and they didn't

didn't really work, and once we did that then the just stood staring at us to go and find them more instead of finding them themselves!

will prob work when they're 4, but was a flop with 3YOs

IHeartKingThistle · 26/06/2012 23:23

I can just picture that!

DS is having a pirate party soon - instead of a treasure hunt they'll all be given a spy glass to go and find the matching pair of a pirate snap card and will get a gold doubloon when they find it.

Jake & the Neverland pirates is a spin off of peter pan - you can download some colouring sheets from the Disney website.

There's loads of pirate party stuff on eBay and amazon. I've found everything I need and more.

MySecretSelf · 26/06/2012 23:29

There's a Peter Pan cd available on amazon btw - pass the treasure chest (instead of parcel, everyone gets to pick a present from the chest).

GnocchiNineDoors · 26/06/2012 23:34

Teach them the pirate song with actions "we're going this way that way forwards and backwards over the irish sea"

IHeartKingThistle · 26/06/2012 23:51

Oh I used to love that song - I'd forgotten all about it!

Found an awesome inflatable crocodile on amazon!

Brilliant!!

Do you have a dog? If so she will need a bonnet on like Nana dog in PP.

I hope your dh is going to dress up as Captain Hook.

Also you could do bobbing for apples (dont know why but it seems an appropriate game)

IHeartKingThistle · 27/06/2012 19:50

No dog. The cat's not really going to cut it, is she? I could try to persuade MIL to wear a bonnet (not saying she's a dog, but the DC do call her Nana!) Grin

Haha yes, shove one on her head as soon as she gets there.

suebfg · 27/06/2012 20:40

we did a treasure hunt for 3 year olds and it was a roaring success. We had a list of items (shown by pictures) that they had to find around the house, and then they were put into a cauldron as ingredients for a magic spell. Funny thing was that one of the items was a jelly worm and one of the kids had found it and eaten it before the hunt started!

PS Pirate treasure chest cakes are really easy to make
