Party is end of August - so far in their little lives (in reverse order back to birth!) we have done parties as diverse as indoor climbing, roller skating, bouncy castle, disco, ventriloquist, pizza in the park, and family tea parties at home when they were babies.

This year my lovely DTSs are 10 - what on earth can I do this year - all out of ideas ..... Please help you lovely MNers ....

(and the crazy and cynical MNers can help too!)

How about some form of treasure hunt/mystery game, with each twin heading up a team? That way it could be inside or out, using their brains and wearing them out! Dunno if a competitive element would be good fun or not - DS is only 1!

Are they too old for a Lego party?

My sis did an 'archeological dig' party a couple of years ago, inc plastic dinos set into jelly for the pudding.

Um, go karts? Make-their-own go karts and race them?

Science party? You know, where they make rockets out of fizzy drink bottles and the like, and those overflowing lava volcanoes out if bicarb and food colouring.

I've seen lots of cool party ideas online, on Pinteret and various blogs, so maybe find a cool blog and link-hop until you see something you like, I always find the good stuff by clicking interesting blog links rather than googling for something specific.

HTH!

Thanks folks ... my DTSs still arguing about the theme this year though ... getting older and more determined to be different!

Separate parties then, one the weekend before the big day, one the weekend after Grin

if nothing else, you could always suggest this & see if it prods them into coming to agreement!

My twins boys were ten recently and we had a 'sleep'over for five of their friends (Nerf fight in the garden followed by pizza and burgers then a film then giggling in bed til midnight) then went to Laserquest the following morning for two solid hours of running around in the dark (for them- I drank coffee in the cafe!), had lunch then they all went home. We were all totally exhausted afterwards but they all loved it.

What do you have nearby? Go karting? Raft making on a lake? Sledging at a dry ski slope? I saw a Nerf party online somewhere with big cardboard cutouts to hide behind and helium balloons and targets to shoot and they gave all the kids a Nerf gun and a t-shirt and had black and orange food at the end.

Swimming, laser tag, bowling, outdoor pursuits centre, film night are a few parties we've had over the years.

Cinema - if you do it at Kid's Club it's about £2.50 for them and adults go free. Take snack boxes with you or buy the kids snack boxes they sell there that come with popcorn, drink and choc/sweets.

Bowling

Laser Tag

Indoor mini golf

Go karting

Take a few friends to a theme park/water park

Go Ape type thing

Multi-sports thing with races and games - maybe Olympic themed?
