First Holy Communion gift for godson

Hi there, I'm in need of some inspiration. My wonderful godson is taking his first communion next month and I'd like to mark it with a memorable gift. He has a twin brother so I am getting them each a fairly modern ID bracelet but also want to do something more individual for him. And all the trad gifts are off the table btw.

For his baptism I gave a compendium of poems by Spike Milligan which has proved really popular and it's been suggested I get another kind of keepsake/classic book. But what?!

Thanks for asking the question as we have the same dilemma for nephew. His sister got a silver necklace with a cross on it but not really appropriate for a boy - or is it?

I'm getting the boys one of these each www.etsy.com/listing/92411656/custom-stamped-adjustable-boys-bracelet but it's not terribly religious!

Well I'm not entirely sure that most boys appreciate religious in the same way that girls seem to..... Nephew is certainly a lot less into going to his First Communion classes etc...than his sister was.

Good idea though!

Same with my godson! He's trying to fight it a bit (and I love him even more for it!).

How old is he? A nice book is a lovely idea - Robinson Crusoe or something like that, maybe?

Ooh yes, stealth. A nice boys own adventure yarn - good idea. DD was given some lovely hardback editions of things like Beatrix Potter for her christening, I wonder if I can find a compendium of things like Huck Finn and Robinson Crusoe. Gone are the days of having the time to aimlessly browse in Waterstones...
