Hello, having had great advice re timing of my daughter's party, I thought I'd pick some brains again. Hope that's ok!

The party will start at 4pm with food etc at 5pm. I've decided that along with the usual sandwiches etc I would do a large hot pot for parents and children who would like a hot meal - with sliced tiger bread - that sort of thing.

For the parents, as well as helping themselves to the hot pot / sandwiches, I was thinking of having a table with a box of crackers and a cheese plate with some wine. Will I be judged badly for offering wine at a four year old's party????? What do you think?

PS. I'm not normally just a worryier - I just find it difficult these days to think clearly for myself!!!!! I need approval and validation from my peers.... Smile

wine at 4yo's party at that time of day fine IMHO - but depending on goegraphy (i.e. if most parents present will be driving) you might not get much take up, so would offer plenty of soft drink options as well.

I was recently given wine at a kids party at about 5pm.
I thought it was a fantastic idea Grin

What is tiger bread?

If parents are staying why wouldn't there be wine?

I think you are making work for yourself. A bottle of wine and some soft drinks on a table, with a few nibbles is fine. Parents will not be expecting a meal.

Fab, thanks everyone. Wine it is - there will be plenty of soft drinks/tea etc for the drivers. Campocaro - it's that lovely stripey loaf of bread you find in most supermarket bakerys. Softer and less crumby than baguettes so I prefer it as a mopping device!
