5th birthday invites!

I'm fretting about how many from school to invite to DS1s party.

I really didn't want to invite the whole class (30) but I am getting quite a few nos and now worrying no ones going to turn up.

I guess because it is over Easter a lot of his friends are away.

We have invited 16 of the class so it would mean inviting 13 more. I felt bad leaving some of these out anyway so it might ease my conscious by inviting them. But on the other hand its a lot of children to invite and a lot of people on here seem to frown on whole class parties.

DS was really vague about who he wanted to invite. I'm kind of wishing I'd arranged something smaller. But to late now!

what sort of party is it? Do you have to pay per child or is a set price for the venue? At that age we hired a hall with bouncy castle and invited the whole class.

Thanks for reply! Was starting to think no one comes on this page!

Its in a hall and I've decided to invite the whole class. I must be mad!!!!

Now its the anxious wait for replies!

We invited the whole class to my DS's 5th Birthday. My DS named all but 3 of his class and I felt awful about leaving kids out. The invitations went out 2 months after he started Reception and I didn't know many parents/ the class.

I did have a lot of problems with rsvps and a few no shows but additional siblings evened it all out.

My view just afterwards was 'no good deed goes unpunished'. However, my DS loved it and talks about it all of the time. Whilst it would have been easier to have held the event at a Wacky Warehouse or similar, they restrict numbers. It was lovely to see his whole class play together. Your DS will have a fab time.

Thanks!

We've got an entertainer for half of it. Was hoping to do some party games but might be too many children to do that. Not sure if I could be bothered to wrap 30 layers on a pass the parcel.

After the food we will probably put on some music and have balloons to play with.

Go for it - chances are a lot will be away (parties in holidays are always much more sparsely attended IME)

Entertainer and food with music/balloons is plenty to entertain 5 yos.
Sounds perfect. Grin
